Letter from NPCA's President:

Nearly every day in Washington, D.C. and in your state capitals, decisions are being made on matters that are fundamental to the success of your company. These decisions affect the way the paint and coatings industry does business. In order to better influence how these decisions are made and their ultimate impact on our member companies, NPCA has formed a Political Action Committee (“PaintPAC”) to enhance our profile with decision makers on issues of importance to your business.

Federal law prohibits corporate contributions to candidates as well as contributions from non-profit associations such as NPCA. However, federal law does allow political action committees, such as PaintPAC to contribute. With the enactment of the Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform Act of 2002, and the ban on so-called “soft-money,” the importance of political action committees and their contributions will grow in the coming years.

In order to provide our members with every possible resource to advance the paint and coatings industry’s agenda and to ensure our industry’s ability to better educate and lobby key elected officials on critical industry issues, NPCA has embarked on this new endeavor. With your participation, PaintPAC will be an effective way for companies, such as yours, to express their views about important matters affecting business.

Sincerely,

J. Andrew Doyle
